New learning spaces at the Potter
As we prepare for our 2025 reopening, the Potter Museum of Art is thrilled to introduce expanded and reimagined learning spaces designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and deeper academic engagement.
Working with Wood Marsh Architects the revitalised Potter will feature new and improved spaces for the Museum’s leading exhibition and collection-based learning programs made possible by The Ian Potter Foundation and Lady Primrose Potter AC.
We welcome you and your students to join us at the Potter for curriculum visits to 65,000 Years: A Short History of Australian Art with our academic engagement team during the winter term and semester two. Bookings will open in February.
In 2026, we will launch our full tertiary learning suite of spaces, including two studios dedicated to collection-based learning with the University’s art collection, space for collection research visits and a teaching gallery.
These state-of-the-art spaces will support deeper academic partnerships, encourage new approaches to museum-based education and foster interdisciplinary connections, enriching the educational experience for both students and faculty across the University of Melbourne.
We look forward to welcoming academic staff, students and researchers into these inspiring new spaces.
