Discover how the Potter Museum's new learning studios can enhance your academic journey

New Studio Spaces at the Potter

The revitalised Potter features new and improved spaces for the Museum’s leading exhibition and collection-based learning programs.

Located at the heart of the Museum, these state-of-the-art spaces are supporting deeper academic partnerships, new approaches to museum-based education and interdisciplinary connections. We specialise in enriching the educational experience of students across the University of Melbourne.

Our Studios are spaces where students can learn alongside the University’s art collection, conduct collection research visits, experience museum-based cohort sessions, and enjoy dedicated exhibition tours.

The Studios are situated on level 1, next to our new Project Gallery, a responsive and collaborative space established to showcase interdisciplinary research, art-led student projects, and outcomes from creative residencies and academic fellowships.

Our Academic Engagement team welcomes enquiries from academics across all faculties at the University of Melbourne. We are experts in bringing exhibition and collection-based learning to teaching and research across a range of disciplines, from single visits to semester-long collaborations.

The Primrose Potter Studio and Peter Jopling Studio are both on Level 1 of the Museum. Both Studios are updated to University audio-visual teaching standards.
