Join multidisciplinary artist Dean Cross and make living art that will travel beyond the gallery as part of celebrations for National Eucalypt Day.

You'll be guided to shape seed balls from paper and gum tree seeds that will form part of Dean’s new commission in the upcoming exhibition Ngarn Wa’ngal: Art of the gum tree. Each ball will be dispersed back to Country after the exhibition closes and activated by rain for revegetation.

The day will begin with a Welcome to Country by Aunty Kim Wandin, senior Wurundjeri artist and Elder. Dean will then share insights into the creative process behind the commission. The activity will be facilitated by Dr Katherine Horsfall, Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne’s School of Agriculture, Food and Ecosystem Sciences.

Aprons and gloves will be provided, but please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
