Katherine Hattam
Sometimes, 2015
Katherine Hattam’s work Sometimes combines the traditional artistic genres of still life and landscape to create a unique and revealing self-portrait. The title refers in part to the Leadbelly song ‘Goodnight Irene’, a particular favourite of the artist, which contains the line “Sometimes I live in the country, sometimes I live in the town…”

Animate the Collection
Kent Aldemir responds to Katherine Hattam's 'Sometimes'
ANIMATE THE COLLECTION | First year Bachelor of Fine Arts Animation students in Animation Lab 1 took on an exciting project to Animate the Collection. They creatively responded to artworks from the University of Melbourne Art Collection, introduced to them by Potter Curator Samantha Comte. Students thought about the role of animation in the museum, and produced new animated videos responding to their chosen work, or works. Below you can see the artworks and enjoy the diverse and creative student responses.
